To keep from being distracted while surfing open several TE sites with your tabs. That way you keep busy clicking one site to the next and not so easily distracted from your mission by looking at other business offers.
It also helps to mute you audio so you don't even hear the pitch. Hopefully not everyone does this or the whole idea of Traffic Exchanges wouldn't work. You just need a few people who will see your ad and act on it.
