The Leads Enigma
by Paychecks For Life Pres/CEO, Kurt Wilkins
LEADS, LEADS, LEADS!
How many, what kind, how often?
Many people ask us these questions. Based on almost 24 months of personal experience with the Paychecks For Life system plus having over 125,000 of my own leads in the system, here is how I respond. The first question is how many leads do I need? It seems to me that, it will depend on which of the three categories you fit into.
You do not need to use ALL of the tools here, but only use the ones you’re comfortable with and those that fit YOUR marketing plan and budget. I do suggest you use as many of them as you can, however… just remember you don’t need to do everything at once. Pick one new tool and get comfortable using it before moving on to the next.
For the most part, opt in MLM leads are generated over the Internet. While there is no definite study to prove this matter, it is safe to assume that 85-90% of all leads you find for sale are originated on the Internet.
Most of the time, MLM or Multi-level Marketing businesses depend on the “direct-selling” business model, where you push hard to convert leads and interested prospects to regular customers. Most of these network marketers are typically motivated to talk first to their family, relatives, friends and everyone they know. However, if their list has ended, generating their own leads becomes a problem. Because of this, they end up buying or finding free business opportunity leads. Unfortunately, they don’t understand that it is actually more expensive and when they start calling their leads they would see that it is a waste of time to go through the list. A lot of these leads did not give their consent to get any kind of information about the niche of your business but the worst part is that there are opportunity seekers included in the list. Opportunity seekers should be avoided as much as possible. Simply because they are just looking for a quick fix and quit at a later time. So why invest time and effort on such people?
On the other hand, there are a lot of approaches to have free business opportunity leads. Here are some tips to generate your own legit and FREE business opportunity leads.
Develop informational blogs and websites. Utilize the free accounts and join free blogs with publishing platforms like LiveJournal, Xanga, Blogger, Squidoo, Webs and others. Create and submit blog posts that are mainly associated to the niche of your business. Incorporate relevant keywords related to your market in you articles so that you may utilize search engine optimization techniques. Never go without an auto-responder on your websites or blogs. This will help you collect, respond and manage names and email addresses of your free business opportunity leads.
As much as you can, create social networking accounts. Make accounts on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube or Myspace. These websites will allow you to let others know about your product and services. For example, you can upload videos about product reviews and informational videos. It is vital to provide links to your mailing list and contact numbers so people that are interested can contact you anytime.
If you’ve been around for any time at all, you’ve probably come across advertisements that read: “1,000,000 email addresses for $29.99”. These bulk mail companies might even offer you these names in a CD mailed to you.
When it comes to obtaining prospects for your business, many people become discouraged rather quickly when purchasing leads. This is totally understandable as most purchased leads are junk! There are some reputable lead sources available but you have to sift through the piles of bad companies to find them and they are usually quite expensive.
